Bringing Bailey Home!

Bailey all dressed and ready to go home! Doesn't she look cute with her bow! I am so excited to dress this little girl up in bows and bracelets! Especially with all the wild and crazy hair she has. None of the pictures really show how much hair she has and how wild and crazy it can get.

I forget how small the babies are and especially how small they look in their carseats! Bailey hated the carseat until we started driving and then she cashed out.

Reuniting with brother. He seems to like her here. Don't let him fool you! It has taken some time to get JJ use to his little sister. We went through the jealousy stage, the tantrum throwing stage, and acting like he is being so kind to her only to catch him seconds later slapping, pinching, hitting, or stepping on her! I think he is finally starting to like her and realize she is here for good. Every morning when he wakes up he asks "where's baby?" It is so cute. He loves to say Hi to her, give her kisses, and laugh with her. (Even though she is not laughing!) I can't wait for her to get a little older so they can play together. I think they will be the bestest friends!

First Bath/Meeting Mimi

Bailey's first bath. She doesn't seem to be liking it too much!

Awww that feels good!

All cleaned up and looking pretty!

Proud parents!

Meeting Mimi for the first time! Mimi arrived about four hours after Bailey was born. If only she had waited a few hours to come into this world!! I guess she already knows who is the boss!

Last pregnant picture getting ready to leave for the hospital

Ready for baby Bailey, who would've guessed I was dilated to a nine?

Daddy and his little girl

Wow!! It's been a while since I have updated. I guess thats what happens when you have a baby! I will start with my labor story since I want to remember it. Sunday October 11 I went to church feeling fine. During sacrament meeting I had a few contractions, but nothing major. I started getting excited thinking maybe they would continue, but did not want to get my hopes up! I then went on to the next two meetings during which I teach the Sunbeams class. I had a few more, but still thought nothing of it. When church was over I came home and started feeding JJ lunch. It seemed as if all the sudden my contractions started to become regular and a little more uncomfortable. At that point I seriously started thinking that my little girl could be coming soon, but still did not want to get my hopes up. I put JJ down for a nap and then went and tried to take a nap myself incase I did go into labor I would be well rested. Well, my nap did not last for too long because I was trying to keep track of how far apart my contractions were, and they were uncomfortable enough I could not fall asleep! I decided I would get up and pack a hospital bag since the last time I went into labor I only brought a few needed items to the hospital because I really thought they would just send me home. I started packing my hospital bag and at that point I realized that I really was in labor and that the contractions were not going to stop. I called my mom to let her know and was a little disappointed because my mom was flying in the next day and I really wanted her to be here. She immediately called the airport and got on the first flight she could. I was so excited thinking my mom would fly in and then at that point I would be ready to deliver. Little did I know that would not be happening. After packing my bag I called my friend to see if JJ could go over to her house, and if needed spend the night. Good thing I have such good friends out here. I then continued to try and put off going to the hospital, because I did not want to have to just sit in my hospital bed and wait for the baby to come. So being the clean freak I am I decided I would straighten up the house before leaving. I just hate coming home to a messy house, so I knew I better make sure it was clean. It had now been about two hours since I had been having good regular contractions so I decided we better start heading to the hospital. We woke JJ up from his nap, packed up the car, and took JJ over to my friend Amber's house. I was a little sad leaving JJ knowing that when we came home he would have a little sister, and his whole life was going to change. He would no longer be getting all of our attention. We then had to make a mandatory stop at Panda Express for Josh so he would have the strength and energy to get through the labor!! Ha ha. I had no interest in eating, but last time josh was starving so he thought he would be prepared this time. On our way to the hospital my contractions started coming even closer together and getting more uncomfortable, but I still was thinking I would not deliver for a while. We got to the hospital and did all the routine stuff. Since I didn't seem to be in to much pain, the nurses nor I were in a hurry to check and see how far dilated I was. After getting all checked in and filling out all the necessary paperwork they decided they would check me to see how far along I was. The nurse I had had been working in labor and delivery for about ten years so she knew what she was doing. When she checked me she was having a hard time finding my cervix. Much to her surprise it was because I was almost completely dilated. She was so surprised she thought I was dilated to 8 1/2 or 9. Since I was not in too much pain she thought she would have another nurse check to make sure before calling the doctor in to deliver the baby. The other nurse came in and checked me and yes, I was dilated to a 9. I was completely shocked!! How was I dilated to a 9? I was worried I would get to the hospital and they would send me home!! So I immediately told them to call the anesthesia doctor so that he could hurry and place my epidural. They tried to in a round about way tell me I would not have time for an epidural, and when I finally realized that I was not going to get an epidural I started feeling a little anxious and not to sure if I could deliver this baby. I always thought that in order to go all natural and not have an epidural you had to prepare. Wow was I wrong. I guess when you have no choice you have to do what you have to do. I then also realized that my mom was still not going to make it to this delivery even though she was already on her way. The rest of the delivery was very fast. I had great nurses and doctor and husband that were great at talking me through it and helping me breath. They were also good at cheering me on when I did not want to push anymore because of the pain! I luckily only had to push for about four sets of contractions until Bailey made her way into the world. When she finally came out it was the best feeling of relief and accomplishment. I finally got to meet my baby girl and hold her in my arms. What a wonderful and touching moment. All the scares she put us through and to finally have her here and completely healthy was such a blessing and miracle. I am so grateful that I have been blessed to have two healthy children and have been trusted to be their mother.

Maternity Pictures

Last time I was pregnant I did not take any maternity pictures because I felt fat! After being pregnant and looking back I was so sad that I didn't have any pictures to remember so this time I decided I had to. Although it is never fun to take pictures while you are prego and see yourself bigger than normal, I knew I would regret it if I didn't so I had my good friend and babysitter take a few for me. I think she did such a good job, and am glad this time I will have some to remember. So here I am at 36 weeks pregnant. Thanks so much Amber. You are the best!

We are counting down the days until we get to meet our little angel. I had my last ultrasound last week and she is head down which was very good news for us. The baby looks good, but she is only measuring in the 25th percentile. How is it that they say the baby only weighs about 5lbs 5ounces, but yet I have gained a whole heck of a lot more weight then that??!! So not fair. Anyways,I was not dilated at all which was a little disappointing because with JJ I was at this point. I have a feeling that since this whole pregnancy I have been assuming she is going to come early (because JJ came two weeks early) that she is going to stay in there and cook until she has to come out! I guess you never know and we will just wait and see.

Playing with the hose!

I came home the other day from a primary activity to find my boys cleaning the garage and playing with the hose!! Now I know why JJ loves his daddy so much, because he lets him do all the fun stuff! JJ was absolutely loving playing in the water and getting wet. He thought it was even cooler when Josh showed him how to spray mommy and get her wet! Oh how I love my boys.
Say CHEESE!!

Aiming for mommy!

Thinking he is so funny getting mommy wet!

Still trying to aim at mommy and get her wet!

Nursery

JJ went to nursery for the first time a couple weeks ago. He was a little hesitant walking into the room, and kept trying to pull my hand so we could leave the room. As soon as they pulled out the play dough he was very intrigued and I snuck out while I could. When I checked back on him about five minutes later he was crying:( I felt so bad, but knew that If I went back in it would only get worse, so I left him. His teachers said he only cried for a couple of minutes and then was fine. Josh and I are so glad that he is finally old enough to go to nursery so we can actually attend and teach our classes. Although, it is not going to last long since our little princess is going to be here very shortly!!

My handsome boys before church!

JJ's first artwork from church. So cute! Notice how he is smiling and cheesing for the camera. Looks like he is wide awake.

About sixty seconds after the last picture he was completely out! Man, nursery must have just worn him out. I was trying with all my might to keep him awake so I could just lay him down when we got home but nothing was keeping him awake. It only takes us a couple minutes to get home from church and he was just cashed out by time got home!!

Grandma Redd

Grandma Redd came to visit in July. We sure loved having her here. She took care of us and spoiled JJ as usual!! I did not get very many pictures while she was here, but I did get this cute one.

We were flying home to Utah for the 24th of July so Grandma took JJ home to Utah a couple days before Josh and I went home so he could spend some time with all the family in Utah since he doesn't get to see any of them very often. He got spoiled way to much by everyone and was sad to come back home with his boring mom and dad.

While at Grandma Redd's JJ loved playing outside in her back yard, playing on the swing set, eating popsicles, jumping on the tramp, going to Chuck E Cheeses, playing on the tramp and most of all getting spoiled by grandma!

Fourth of July!!

We had a fun fourth of July weekend. On friday we had a barbeque at our house with a few friends and then set off some little fireworks for the kids. JJ was not to sure about the party confetti ones, but enjoyed the sparklers and the spinners! On saturday we started off the day going to our ward breakfast, then to the coppell parade with some friends from the ward. This was JJ's first parade and he really enjoyed it! I think it was because they threw out so much candy! He was on a sugar high by time we were done with the parade.

Waiting for and watching the fireworks! I love this boy.

JJ loved the sparklers for the short second he got to play with it!! We found out that it wasn't a very good idea to let toddlers try and do sparklers!! We almost found out the hard way. Luckily nobody got hurt:)

Helping daddy with the fireworks!

RANDOMNESS!

My handsome boy is getting so grown up! Isn't he just the cutest thing you have ever seen!

We decided to have a little campout one night in our living room. JJ loved playing in the tent, jumping on the mattress, and of course all the goodies we had! JJ was enjoying the tent so much that it ended up staying set up for a couple of days until I could not stand it anymore!

Mmmmm... Spaghettios!! One of JJ's favorite things to eat, and also one of his first times eating it. As you can see he is making a complete mess, but man he sure was enjoying it!

JJ is learning early!! I don't really know if this is a good thing, but they really enjoyed the father son bonding:) I love that JJ loves his daddy so much. Whenever Josh gets home from school JJ gets this huge smile on his face and runs into his daddy's arms. Poor Josh, he never gets a break and can't ever enjoy dinner because his son wants all of his attention. Josh is such a good dad and plays and adores JJ. I love to watch him in action because he is the best dad anyone could ask for.
