Dominican Republic

We had the opportunity to go to the Dominican Republic for an entire week with no kids!  Can you tell how excited we are for a vacation with just the two of us!  This is on the bus on the way to the Las Vegas Airport.  Even though we have a long red eye flight ahead of us, we are very excited!

We went with a large group of people that all do marketing through the same agency.  This was the cute care package we received when we got on the bus.  It had ear plugs, eye masks, red hots, and some other yummy treats for our long flight!
After our first flight and waiting for our next flight.  We were exhausted!
We went to an all inclusive resort.  Needless to say we did ALOT  of eating!  This was at one of our favorite places.  It was a Tai restaurant.
This was at the Mexican restaurant that we were not too impressed with?  We loved the endless drinks though! Non-alcoholic of course!
One of my friends from college mom was on the trip with us!  Such a small world.
Getting ready to go on our excursion.  What a hottie!  We went snorkeling, swimming with sharks, and got a little massage.  It was a fun little excursion.  The sharks were much bigger than we anticipated.  It was a little scary to be actually swimming in the same area as them, but pretty cool at the same time.

Just relaxing and enjoying our time by the pool.
The boys did a little kayaking contest in the pool.  Neither one of them won, but it was fun and they did great.

 Our view from our room.

We did not take many pictures.  We were trying to stay off our phones and enjoy our time together and since we take all our pictures on our phones, we did not have them very often.  We enjoyed eating at the buffet every morning, we usually played tennis or got a nice work out in to try and not feel as if we were gaining too much weight.  We enjoyed lounging by the pool a lot and every night eating at one of the nice restaurants.  The first Sunday that we were their we went and found a Branch where we could attend church. It was really small and they spoke spanish.  It was still fun to be there, feel the spirit, and to experience church the way others do.  The men of course persuaded our taxi driver to come in and listen, we then went with the Elder missionaries and each knocked and talked with two people!  I of course do not speak spanish, so I just tagged a long.  It was fun to schedule times for the missionaries to come back and meet with these people and we could only hope that something may come of us knocking on a few peoples doors!

We also spent one of our days at the spa sitting in the aqua therapy rooms, getting a massage, and a facial.  We did it all together as a couple and it was awesome.  It was so nice and relaxing.  Just what I needed.

Other than our one other excursion, we spent our days just relaxing at the pool, enjoying food and drinks, and enjoying the activities the resort had to offer.

Every evening the resort had some sort of show.  They were very enjoyable and fun to have something to do in the evening since the sun would go down so early.

We had a great time, but missed our kids immensely.  We were thankful for all the wonderful people at home that helped keep them safe while we were gone.
